Sometimes I am kept up at night, thinking about the horrible fate this world is barreling towards. And just when I begin to think that there is no hope, in steps someone like Wanita Renea Young.
One night, Wanita Young was doing whatever it is that Wanita Young does. And than, the unthinkable happened. A knock on the door!
Now that you are over your shock period, let me continue. Wanita, as one might imagine, was absolutely horrified. Opening the door, she found none other than a plate of cookies, with this note: "Have a great night. Love, the T & L club." As any half-way sane human being would do, she called the police. And than the next morning (yep, next morning), she deciding she was so startled, that she went to the hospital.
Now, about the cookies. Two nice, Christian, teenage girls decided that it would be nice if they made cookies for their neighbors. So, they baked some cookies, and left cookies and the afforementioned note on the doorstep of all the neighbors with their lights on. You know, to be nice. A good deed. Miscreants, I tell you!
So, Wanita Young decided to sue these two good-hearted girls, even though they wrote apologies, and their parents offered to pay for the medical costs. She sued for the medical costs and for punitive damages, but only won for the medical costs.
Quoth Wanita Young: "I just hope the girls learned a lesson."
Me too. And I hope everyone learns a lesson from this. If you do a good deed, you might get sued by some mean old hag.
